“Souper” Bowl Sunday

Beginning Sunday, February 5 through the end of February, we will be collecting soup, soup fixings and other nonperishable food to donate to the Frederick Soup Kitchen and the Frederick Food Bank.  Unfortunately, this year’s food collection in Frederick yielded approximately 50% of their normal needs.  Hopefully we can help fill the gap that they are experiencing this year.

 Also during this time we assemble children’s birthday kits for the Frederick Food Bank (housed in the same building as the Soup Kitchen).

 Birthday Kit suggestions:  In a 2 gal. Ziploc-type bag . . .

 Paper plates, cups, napkins, and plastic silverware for 8-10

Cake mix & canned frosting

Cake decorations

Candles

Party favors

Any other party items you wish to include

 We are all aware of the desperate financial situation that many people are in within our own communities.  We all know of people in difficult circumstances.  Food is a basic need.  Let us be diligent in bringing in our donations regularly—not just on special occasions!  The food will be taken regularly to the Frederick Food Bank and/or the local Urbana Food Bank operated for many years by our Urbana neighbors, Jo and Larry Ostby.
